At Andromede I build the RL environments and benchmarks that frontier models get graded on. The question I keep coming back to: when you give an agent a rule to satisfy, when does it play the game, and when does it play the rules?

Alongside that I'm AI Advisor at The Focus Co, and I was previously a Pivotal Research Fellow (LISA, London) working on the technical side of AI governance.

Before this: MSc in AI at the University of Galway — thesis with the Yale/EPFL LiGHT Lab. Before that: maths at UCC and UC Santa Barbara, applied AI in industry, and at sixteen I co-founded TY.ie, a platform for Irish students that was acquired in 2020.

I'm from Cork. I live in Girona, Catalonia — which anyone who follows road cycling will recognise as a completely rational relocation.

Formative years: Irish Mathematical Olympiad team, BT Young Scientist, SciFest, Young Economist of the Year. I was that kid, and I regret nothing.
